School transformation project: a school reform project that involves over 15 schools!
An educational project that goes beyond school!
The collaboration between the Ensinus Group and Quantasia SA started in 2018 in a Leadership Training Project dedicated to the schools’ Directors of the Group.
The great success achieved during the first training edition led the parties to join a more important educational project, tailored for the teaching staff and the coordinators of all the Group’s schools based in Portugal (Lisbon and Porto) and in Africa (Guinea Bissau).
The project is part of the school reform policy undertaken by the Ensinus Group in the recent years and has been called “HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING FOR MENTORING IN EDUCATION”.
The aim of the project is to help school coordinators and teaching staff to develop transversal skills (Soft Skills), incorporating coaching and mentoring techniques in their portfolio, in order to improve and enhance the classroom management and the cooperation of the team within the school itself.
One of the goals of Ensinus Group is to integrate a holistic educational approach through mentoring and coaching in the national education system, in order to implement a school reform that aims to embrace the development of the human being, placing it at the center of the teaching process.
Dr. Teresa Damasio, CEO of the Ensinus Group, is farsighted and future-oriented. She knows that nowadays, if you want to achieve excellence, it is no longer sufficient to train people from a technical point of view.
This training project has a double meaning for her: on the one hand, to develop her team’s Soft Skills to improve their disposition to work together in common projects, to communicate clearly and to solve problems effectively; on the other hand, to provide them with effective tools that can be used in classroom to accompany students in their life experience.
Nowadays, the education system has the responsibility for training young children who will be able to use their thoughts, who will make responsible and conscious choices, children who will be able to stay together with other human beings and capable of co-creating value.
If Soft Skills are not developed in young people, these weaknesses, in terms of transversal skills, will then be transferred to the work field (e.g.: not being able to listen to a customer, postponing work, being late, not cooperating with other figures, etc.), affecting their professional and personal future. We need to keep in mind that the policy of Human Resources is always the same: we are hired on the basis of technical skills and dismissed due to lack of Soft Skills!
