Biography

Pëtr Dem’janovič Uspenskij, known as Pëtr Ouspensky, was a Russian writer and philosopher born in 1878 in Moscow. He became famous primarily for his work in the field of psychology and esoteric philosophy. After meeting George Ivanovic Gurdjieff in 1915, he became one of his most important students and this contributed to the spread of his teachings in the West. His works, such as “In Search of the Miraculous” and “Fragments of an Unknown Teaching,” had a significant impact on Western culture and spirituality. Ouspensky died in 1947 in London, leaving a lasting imprint on spiritual inquiry and human understanding.
